Typical scenarios
TIE XBRL Messaging Center is designed for an environment where disparate entities such as different group companies have a need to exchange financial reporting information with the Holding company, in order to consolidate the reports and send them to external parties.
Many different applications are involved as well as many different transaction types. TIE XBRL Messaging Center is the central control point for sending, receiving, queuing and if necessary transforming XBRL instance documents.
If these group companies also want to extend their reporting into their business partners, they will find the TIE XBRL Messaging Center designed to do that as well. Supporting all standards and many broadly used communication protocols allows everyone to be reached.
In other words, TIE XBRL Messaging Center is a fully functional message transformation and exchange platform designed to support financial reporting between internal company entities as well as into trading partners.
Organized Exchange of Financial Reports
The purpose of the Messaging Center is the organized exchange of financial reports in XBRL, offering communication and conversion functionality for many different network infrastructures and data formats. The Messaging Center is used in an “any-to-any” environment, in which any data format can be used to generate a transaction in any other format that the recipient may be using. This allows investments in current solutions to be protected, making it easier to connect to more partners to do more electronic business transactions. Messaging Center is the focal point for your eReporting, tracking, and tracing.
Communication Management. Records are kept in the Messaging Center’s integrated SQL database of all messages that flow through the TIE XBRL Messaging Center. The sender can see at any time the current status, for complete message tracking. Also, in case of questions after the message has been delivered, the sender can trace back to see what happened to the message, at what time. This gives you full auditing capability. The Messaging Center is also capable of event notification management. In the case of errors occurring, a message will automatically alert the sender. These facilities provide the control and auditing functionality needed to properly administer all of your intra-enterprise and inter-enterprise trading relationships.
Role-based user support. Various types of user will need to work with the TIE XBRL Messaging Center, with different roles, and accompanying security requirements. From the highest level for administrators to daily users who want to check on the messages they have to work with. The TIE XBRL Messaging Center features role-based user support allowing for access at any level with restrictions appropriate for that level. Individual users can look at the status of their messages, and perform some basic tasks on them. Operators can be permitted to go much further than that and administrators will have access to setting up partner relationships, and can grant access to users with their different roles. Furthermore, groups can be defined to cluster individual users with the same roles for easy administration.
Scalability. Designed for high-performance usage, the TIE XBRL Messaging Center can be deployed in a multi-processor and multi-tasking environment to allow you to grow your business without interruption.
Broad standards support. Besides XBRL the TIE XBRL Messaging Center supports other variations of XML, EDIFACT, X12, GENCOD, TRADACOMS, SEDAS, VDA, ODETTE, CARGO/IMP and other message transaction types. For communications, besides ebXML Messaging, it supports protocols such as FTP, SMTP and connections via VANs such as IBM Information Exchange, GXS, X.400/P7 and Webster as well as connections via 3rd party interfaces such as MAPI, and an open file interface.
